On the way to Látrabjarg cliffs this is a great stop. This beautiful golden colored beach is one of the largest in the Westfjords and absolutely stunning surrounded by rocky cliffs and turquoise waters.

Beautiful beach that makes for the perfect place for a picnic on the way to the Látrabjarg cliffs for bird watching. You walk through grass, then pebble-covered sand to the beach. The water is clear and the wind was very mild during our visit. Highly recommend!!

Don't miss this beach. It's one of the largest in the west fjords, and absolutely stunning up close. In the summer months, water evaporates off of the sand giving a misty look to the beach. Photos do not do it justice.

Note that vehicles are not permitted past the hotel/village, so a bit of a walk may be in order to get closer to the water.

Beautiful and expansive white sand beach with black stones. Stand and take pictures at the midpoint of the beach and your photos look like you are standing in a desert. The fields and meadows in front of the beach are exquisite, too.

A wonderful place, at the end of the world with strange but calm nature, water and golden sand on the beach; very touching a small cemetery of the inhabitants who lived in the area.
