Frábær staður og gaman að gista á stað þar sem þjónustan er persónuleg. Bergþóra sinnti okkur virkilega vel, veðrið var gott svo við fengum að nota grillaðstöðuna og heiti potturinn frábær. Takk aftur fyrir okkur!

We stayed here in mid-July 2024 for 4 nights in the studio apartment. Prior to arrival the owner was responsive and polite to my emailed questions. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a bottle of wine waiting for us. Overall the room was comfortable, plenty of space for 2 people, and had what we needed to keep some food and make meals.
Some things to note: the TV turned on but no channels worked. Also the WIFI was so slow that it was faster to use without it. For the bathroom, make sure the window is closed because flies and spiders were getting in. (I was bit by a spider and they tried to make a home in our luggage) Also a washrag for the body was not available so you might need to bring one. The shower is extremely small and has a push button that you have to constantly press over and over while showering or the water will turn off. This was a very frustrating feature.
Upon arrival, note that you need to park in the super long grass by the side of the driveway closer to the road, and don't pull too far forward because there is a ditch.
The owner was not home when we arrived but her daughter greeted us. She was very nice but only explained how to get into the room and use the key box. The room door was wide open for the breeze, so we didn't notice the radiators were on. This is important later. She didn't take our cash damage deposit and said her mother would get it the next day. Note that we did not end up paying this amount the entire trip. Not complaining, just a notice. We did have to ask her how to work the door because unless you flip some little mechanism, it won't lock.
The place is exactly as it looks on the website, but the dog is different. The current dog isn't friendly and barks so much just if someone is even breathing near it. The dog will also run circles around your car when you come or go, making it dangerous and nerve wracking to park or drive. The daughter claimed that we could just drive and the dog would avoid us, but she barely made some annoyed huffs and calls in the dog's direction to get it to stop (which it of course didn't). It was more than obvious that no time has been spent trying to train the dog. I am a lifetime dog owner and avid dog lover, and this was extremely annoying and frustrating.
Day 2, we didn't see the daughter or owner. When we returned from our day out, the room was super hot and not cleaned. We got the radiators turned off and were glad nothing caught fire while we were gone. Being from a state that is a hot box all year, it is suggested that the owners ask if people know how to use this feature. We also wanted to use the hot tub as the website says all guests can, but it was covered and off.
Days 3-4, the rooms were cleaned and the dog was around slightly less. The owner waved to us from her door, but we all kept our distance. Some people like that and some want more interaction. We were fine with a wave. I'm sure she would have talked to us if we wanted.
We did not try any meal service.

We had an amazing weekend stay at Fagrahlid guesthouse! We stayed in the deluxe apartment for two nights. Beautiful surroundings, lovely apartment and so cleand and nice 🙌🏻 Only 5 minute drive from Hvolsvöllur where you will find a supermarket and a great swimming pool. Highly recomended!

We loved our stay at the Fagrahlid Guesthouse! The apartment was very clean and super comfortable. We really enjoyed spending time on the gorgeous grounds with the host’s sweet dog Sole and her gentle Icelandic horses. Bergthora was a very kind and welcoming host. She gave us great tips for local activities and sights, and prepared an incredible Icelandic breakfast for us with homemade breads, waffles, jams, cheeses, yogurts, doughnuts, lamb, salmon, and more. She was always available when we had a question, but gave our group plenty of space and privacy. I hope I get to stay here again some day! Highly recommend this special place.

The owner is awful. While I was away from the apartment she packed my clothes, pyjamas also, without permission. Sometimes it was difficult to find my belongings.
I would never go back there.
The lady is crazy, she accused me of stealing a blanket and I offered her to show my luggage and probe that I dod not steal it, but she did not accept it. She ruined my last day here in Iceland.
I would not recommend it.

Apartmanba mentünk, nem hotelbe. Eszembe sem jutott, hogy a szállásadó a bugyimat fogja hajtogatni. A vizes fürdőruháinkat mi is kiteregettük, csak a szállásadónak úgy nem felelt meg. Érkezésünkkor mondta, hogy a házban nem lehet dohányozni. Ez számunkra is egyértelmű volt, a teraszon dohányoztunk. Azt Ön sem gondolhatja komolyan, hogy a bőröndünket paplannal töltöttük meg a 4 órás repülőútra hazafelé.. Csórók vagyunk Izlandhoz képest, de nem lopni mentünk. Asszonyom, Ön mélyen megsértett minket.

Az öreg hölgy egy paplan lopásával vádolt meg minket ami nem történt meg, kártya visszaélés is történt, a ruháink között pakolt, turkált és többször is előfordult, hogy máshova pakolta. Senkinek se ajánlom szóval akinek véletlenül is megfordul a fejében, hogy itt szállna meg több napra azt azonnal felejtse el!!!!!!!!!
