I stayed at Hofdi Guesthouse for a night & the experience was wonderful. I had to call the owner of the house who came within 5 mins, showed us around the house & left. He was very friendly & good. The house is fantastic. It is historical as well (3rd house of Husavik). The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable & the kitchen is stocked with all sorts of utensils & other things. Breakfast is included & the owner had kept lots of things for the breakfast. The common area is beautiful & you'd love to spend more time there. There is a laundry facility as well. It is located in the most convenient place. If you have a car, there's a place to park it next to the guesthouse. Recommended.

A parte l'ottima posizione a poche centinaia di metri dal porto per l'imbarco per fare il whale watching, il resto non era un granchè. Struttura, spartana, piccola per i letti che ospitava. Bagno piccolo e spazi esigui anche per la colazione. Noi abbiamo preso un tavolo e lo abbiamo portato in camera per fare colazione! Colazione minimale e self service, personale inesistente. Cucina a disposizione. lavatrice e asciugatrice disponibile, parcheggio e wifi gratuito.

This property needs to provide more facilities for the number of people staying. Although there are two bathrooms, one is down a very steep staircase in the basement, so one bathroom for 10+ people just isn't sufficient. The room was badly equipped - no place to hang clothes, only one chair, no mirror. On the good side, there were laundry facilities, although the dryer didn't seem to be working, and the supplies to make breakfast were plentiful. The young girl who answered our call for directions was helpful and pleasant and met us to show the way (it would be difficiult to find otherwise). The price was high compared to other places we stayed at, with far better facilities.

An old house but comfortable to stay for a night in Husavik to watch the whales. The kitchen is well equipped and the fridge well stocked for breakfast. Guests can use the washing machine and dryer in the ground floor bathroom.||||Excellent wifi reception. There was a storm throughout the night during our stay there and there was no leak in our room ( facing the entrance).||||Our GPS brought us to the entrance along the main street and we had to drive further to park our car.

The place is quite nice. The owner of the guesthouse is very nice and available to provide you everything you need. I was asking for lactose free things and after 30 mins he brought me yogurt and milk. Breakfast is available, you can find products in the fridge that you can use on your own. Not more than 3 places to eat...a table is definitely missing. Wi-Fi is fine. Fornitures are very old fashioned and door lockers are noisy. It's 5 mins from the harbour where you can have your whale watching trip.

Positiv:||Das Frühstück konnte man sich aus dem Kühlschrank selbst zubereiten und war für isländische Verhältnisse vielfältig und reichlich vorhanden. Das Haus ist zwar sehr alt, aber dennoch vermittelt es eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Der WIFI-Empfang war sehr gut. Parkmöglichkeiten befanden sich direkt vor dem Haus. Waschmaschine und Trockner, sowie eine vollausgestattete Küche sind vorhanden. Perfekte Ausgangslage für eine Whale Watching-Tour. ||||Negativ:||Für Leute die eine empfindliche Nase haben, könnten hier Probleme mit dem Wasser bekommen, da es sehr stark nach Ei riecht und schmeckt. (Ist in einigen Regionen in Island nun mal so, aber dort besonders stark!) Des Weiteren waren die Zimmer sehr lieblos eingerichtet.

Felt like a real treat to have this house to ourselves, being 4 adults. The house is old ( which is part of its charm ) very comfortable, has a well equipped kitchen and laundry. Easy parking. A bit tricky to actually find! Easy to see from the main road but you need to turn left into Laugabrekka and drive around to Hofdavegur and drive almost to the end where you will see the back of the house.|The fridge is stocked with enough food for a good breakfast. Good wi- fi. Would be happy to return

Casupola di legno in prossimità del porto e dal molo di partenza del Wale watching,si nota dalla strada principale. Scricchiolante ed accogliente.il proprietario arriva in due minuti dal momento della telefonata (numero sulla porta) con tanto di pos per il pagamento. Cucina simpaticamente è abbastanza fornita,nel frigo troverete pane uova marmellate prosciutto succhi e latte e formaggio e yogurt per la colazione ||Bagno con asciugamani a piacimento e lavatrice con asciugatrice ||Camera con letti senza armadio ||Prezzo nella media islandese||A me piace,sa di casa!
