Hótelið á sér mjög áhugaverða sögu og það var áhugavert að sjá Kapelluna sem hluti af því.||Hvað varðar herbergið og morgunmatinn þá var það sæmilegt, en ekkert sérstakt. Þau verðleggja sig í hærri kantinum fyrir 3* hótel.||Annað, þau nota mjög háa gengisbreytu. Ég bókaði í evrum, en var rukkaður í krónum. Þau virðast nota 151 kr fyrir hverja €, á sama tíma og íslandsbanki er með söluverðið í 147 kr. og ég veit fyrir víst að mörg önnur hótel nota 145 kr. Þannig það gæti verið heppilegra að byðja þau að rukka í evrum, getur sparað nokkra þúsundkalla!

02/02/2025. Viaggiando con mio figlio sono riuscito "ad ottenere" 1 notte in hotel (gli altri pernottamenti del nostro soggiorno sono stati in guesthouse) e la scelta del Fransiskus ha soddisfatto entrambi. Camera 101, bella, grande, pulita, bagno ben attrezzato. Macchina del caffe e bollitore e scelta di caffè, the e tisane. Finestratura con vista sulla zona porto. Dormito benissimo sia per il materasso che per i cuscini.
Ambienti silenziosi e clienti tranquilli.
Colazione. Beh. Bella la sala, ampi spazi e il dolce, il salato, le bevande fredde e calde, i vari succhi, latte e latticini, ben distribuiti e con la macchina per il caffè (anche) espresso che macina i chicchi! Soddisfatto.
Alla reception trovato sempre due persone pronte ad accogliere e a dare consigli. Grazie Fransiskus siamo stati bene.

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a great experience. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.

The hotel itself is cozy and well-equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful—they even send a detailed welcome email before arrival with useful information, which really helps make check-in smooth.

Our room, while not particularly spacious, was perfectly designed to maximize comfort. It was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was varied, delicious, and well-prepared. However, one downside was how rushed we felt towards the end of the breakfast period. A staff member repeatedly reminded us that breakfast ended at 10 AM, starting around 9:40 AM, almost like a countdown. We completely understand the need to respect the timing, but guests should be able to enjoy their meal without feeling pressured to finish in a hurry well within the allotted time.

One unique and special feature of the hotel is the chapel incorporated into the building. Whether you’re a religious person or not, it’s well worth a visit. It’s a peaceful and serene spot, perfect for taking a few quiet moments to reflect and unwind after a long day of traveling.

Es uno de los hoteles más singulares y curiosos en los que me he alojado. Situado en un antiguo convento, conserva la capilla y un encanto especial. La habitación que nos asignaron tenía unas vistas espectaculares al puerto.
El hotel más barato y con mejor calidad/precio de los que tuvimos en Islandia.
El pueblo precioso y el entorno espectacular y nada masificado en contraste con la Costa Sur.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Daniel and Sam were incredibly friendly and hospitable and made our time in Stykkishólmur memorable. They both went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and meeting them was the highlight of our trip. As an LGBTQ couple we felt very welcome and safe. Our room had an amazing view and was very clean and comfortable (the pillows were amazing!). Breakfast each morning had rotating options and plenty to choose from, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks again Daniel and Sam, we will absolutely be back next time!

This is a most unusual hotel. It was a convent and still has a chapel off the lobby. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. We slept very well. Our room had a nice view of the harbor. Restaurants are within easy walking distance. Breakfast was quite nice with a good variety of food.
