Great food, great service. Probably the best food you can have in Iceland! I loved how the owners themselves came to us to explain about the food, the origin of it, the value... And they are very nice people too! The menu with wine was very good, the one with beer is probably the best in terms of value for money. Absolutely recommended, worth is money

Really good tasting menus and wines, and great to try foods sourced from specific parts of Iceland. The service was great, very friendly and informative. I've not given it 5 stars as the atmosphere was pretty lacking, and I don't think the décor was befitting the creativity of the food

I was looking for authentic Icelandic food that was well balanced, scrumptious, and had a personality. Fridrik V blew away all my expectations, despite already having seen it receive high scores on Trip Advisor and Google maps.

We were served by the wife, one of the owners and her son. I only had to make two decisions when I arrived, how many courses I wanted and whether I wanted alcoholic pairings or non-alcoholic pairings. No restaurant I have every been to has designed such delectable non-alcoholic juice pairings for each dish! They also checked for any allergies or dislikes to ensure their courses would only be a delightful surprise.

Each dish was a piece of art, cooked to perfection, everything was done properly, no shortcuts, which is why I think their sauces were out of this world. They really knew how to infuse flavors, some sauces like the lobster bisque reduction took 24 hours to prepare. Every ingredient was hand-selected and had a story whenever I probed. The owners have forged special relationships since they started in 2001 to get the best and freshest from the highest quality local farms and fishermen. Because their ingredients were organic, fresh, local, and nutritional, they were not only incredibly tasty but the true flavors of each ingredient were celebrated.

The meats, the vegetables, the cured and smoked, the drinks, the soup (possibly the best soup I have ever had), really everything was amazing.

They made us feel welcome, telling us how to start our roadtrip, to watch for the weather, really I could not have asked for better hosts.

I have eaten many places in the world, this is at the top of my list.

A spectacular meal, some of the best food I've eaten in a very long time, and the service is really something special. We had a wonderful birthday meal at Fridrik V, and had the 5 course tasting menu with accompanying beverages. Aside from being extremely tasty, the food (and drinks) came with a full explanation of the origins of each, which made our trip to Iceland feel that much more special. If in Reykjavik, go there.

The food was fantastic, and the service was great! Very nice how they explained at each course not only what it was, but also where it came from. Make sure to book a reservation in time, because it's packed every day!

Great food and service with a surprise menu. They were very generous with their pours of champagne and even had glitter on my table for mg birthday!
