The location is great , stunning views . Room was really clean . I got detailed info regarding the facility before checking in .... no problems there .|Cons - rooms under the sauna ( I was in the room # 3) ...you can easily hear when somebody is using them ...especially when the guests are noisy ...I was lucky , the night I was staying there -only one couple used it and I could hear them walking up the stairs and talking. Other than that I would definitely recommend the location and the hotel

ATTENTION : Dishonest hotel
The check-in is at 3 PM and there is no reception on site. I go to the allocated room and when I enter, it seems busy. I take photos of the room and write to the accommodation manager to ask him if it’s normal. I wait 30 minutes in my car and no response, neither by phone nor by email. I communicate with an Expedia agent to explain it to him. He also tries to communicate with them a few times and no response. After all this time, I mention to Expedia that I am going to rent elsewhere (I have to drop off before the flight tomorrow!) and they tell me that they will contact them for a refund. Two hours and 15 later, at 5:15 PM, someone tells me that my room is ready. I explain to him that in the absence of a response after a long delay, I rented elsewhere and that I want to be refunded. Unfortunately, according to their policy, they do not refund. They offer me a 30% at one of their restaurant. They also refuse the refund to the Expedia agent. I would not have canceled if the room had been ready and/or someone had notified me and/or someone had responded to me more quickly than within 2 hours. Of all the accommodations I rented during the 14 days of the trip, this is the only one that was dishonest and execrable. The manager never replied to anything else. They apply their policy when it is advantageous for them (refund) but do not apply it to the client (room ready at the scheduled time or at least communicate with the client). The worst hotel ever.
You can see the pictures of the room at 15:00, at the time of the check in. I did not have a response before 5:15. They told me that they respond within 30 minutes after my first message, but it's a lie. I have screenshots.

I booked this hotel because it’s a short drive to Reykjavík, and the price plus free parking were definite perks. However, there’s no breakfast included, so plan to head into the city for your morning coffee.
They moved my room at the last minute, and since there’s no front desk, all communication is done via email. I booked a double bed for my daughter and me, which ended up being a bunk setup with a queen bed and a twin. Totally fine and cute! The room itself is quaint – it’s an older hotel, weathered by the sea, which gives it some charm.
Unfortunately, the sauna and hot tubs are located directly above the room, so you hear every footstep and every person stomping around. Not exactly the relaxing atmosphere I was hoping for. To make it worse, when the neighbors arrived, we could hear every nagging word she yelled at her partner. Again – not relaxing.
I wanted a quiet, peaceful end to my Iceland road trip, but instead, I’m leaving frustrated and annoyed by the constant noise and lack of privacy. Because the rooms are right along the parking lot, people think it’s perfectly fine to walk right up to your window and look inside. I had to close the shades on a woman who literally walked up to look into our room.
Other things to note:
• The cups for coffee or tea looked like they’d just been wiped out, not properly washed.
• The blackout shades barely block any light.
• There’s no restaurant on-site, so stop at the store beforehand. At least there’s a fridge in the room.
• The shower door was off its rollers, so we had to fix it ourselves just to use it.
• The hot water is geothermal, so expect a strong sulfur smell. Pro tip: Remove any silver jewelry or it will tarnish.
• The water temperature isn’t consistent….it goes from scalding hot to cold on rotation, making showers a bit of a survival exercise.
• There’s only one outlet in the room, located on the opposite side from the beds, so our devices sat on the floor while charging.
• They don’t provide shampoo or conditioner, just generic soap in the shower, so bring your own.
The only real positive is that the beds are very comfortable. Otherwise, this place was a disappointment. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, this likely isn’t it. IMO
*I’m not sure if that’s mold or the metal in the shower, but I’m not touching it to find out!

What a nice place to stay while visiting Iceland! It's further from downtown Reykjavik than google maps makes it seem, but it's still fine for seeing the city. And it's great to be out in a quiet location. And dark! I was able to see the Northern Lights, which the light pollution made hard closer in. Our room was simple but nice and spacious. We barely interacted with the staff, but they were nice. For sure, would stay again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We booked two nights at Fisherman Village and arrived at 2:30 A.M. to find that our room — which had been confirmed multiple times via email, including the exact room number — was already occupied by other people.||We had clearly communicated our late arrival in advance, and received written confirmation. Despite this, we arrived to find no staff on site, no emergency contact who would pick up, and no plan whatsoever to deal with the situation. The manager refused to return our calls, and we were left completely stranded in a remote part of Iceland in the middle of the night.||We are two young women traveling alone, and no other hotel would accept us at that hour. The only hotel that would take us in was over three times the price of what we had originally booked — and at that point, we had no choice. Thank God we had access to funds, or we would have ended up sleeping in the car. The stress and fear of that night were absolutely overwhelming.||Yes, they eventually refunded the original amount and sent a small compensation, but that does not come close to covering the cost of what we were forced to book last-minute. I am still out of pocket by hundreds of euros — and that doesn’t begin to account for the experience.||This was not a simple mistake. It was total negligence. Fisherman Village had no process, no accountability, and no basic safeguards to ensure guest safety. They failed in their most fundamental duty: to provide the room that was confirmed and paid for.||Avoid this place at all costs. If anything goes wrong, you’re on your own — cold, alone, and without support. This was the worst travel experience I’ve ever had.

This is an absolute magical place tucked perfectly out of the way but still incredibly close to everything. The room was perfect, the location breath taking, and the housekeeping staff fantastic. If you want a quiet, clean place to day trip from this is where you need to be.
