💯💯💯 recommend Lindartun Guesthouse!Stayed here for 1 night on 1st October 2024 after our drive to Highlands and got here when it was already dark but i loved the drive to the junction from the main road to the guesthouse.It was pretty dark around the area which we thought we could be lucky for aurora sightings but it was cloudy. Luckily, I asked the owner when was the last aurora sighting at the guesthouse and she immediately opened her laptop and that’s when I found put there’s aurora forecast website in Iceland. She was the one that let us know there’s higher chance to spot aurora on the upcoming friday due to clear sky. Oh btw, for our check-in process, when I first arrived and entered the guesthouse, please take off your shoes by the entrance, and go to reception area infront of the kitchen and take the house phone to call the owner. We booked room no. 5 which cones with a sofa bed and the long toom was so cute and cozy. This is the cutest guesthouse room design among all 13 accoms across the country during our trip. I really loved it a lot as the room was long and spacious.The common dining area was really nice and big which I didn’t really spend time here. But I used the kitchen the next morning to boil hot water and make myself my hot chocolate and instant mushroom soup. Worth my money. While the decor of the room was very tasteful not being able to access wifi in the room was disappointing. Also we did not realise that we were able to use the kitchen to make a coffee. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. We were provided with a map and several places were recommended for dinner. Tried to watch TV but received a no signal message. Location meant it was very quiet. Parking available in front of guesthouse.

Cute guesthouse with a true feel for modern Icelandic life. Located several miles from the main route, you enter open space with farms, horses, and giant open sky with mountains and glaciers at the horizon. The main guesthouse is where I stayed in a single room, with en-suite. Perfect and cozy for a solo traveler. I did not take advantage of the breakfast due to an early tour, but the kitchen and dining area was clean and attractive. The owners horses were a treat to visit with, and the night sky was so beautiful - a perfect place to see the Aurora if you are lucky! No issues checking in via a house phone, and plenty of parking. Other guests were enjoying themselves in the common area but everyone was respectful and quiet. The location is not far from Hella where you can get groceries, and there are lots of things to do nearby (short drive) if you choose to spend more than a night here! Absolutely recommend Lindartun as a stop on your drive across Iceland!

The host is very kind and helpful! The guesthouse is located in proximity to numerous sites worth visiting. I would definitely stay here again!

What a place! We found it last minute. Big luxury room, very clean. Great host. Easy check in and check out. Remote location..good spot to chase aurora as nothing is around..

Bardzo przyjemne i czyste miejsce. Trochę na odludziu ale z klimatem. Pokój w normalnym rozmiarze, bardzo przyjemny. Mieliśmy wspólną łazienkę ale nie było kolejek ani dyskomfortu. Kuchnia bardzo duża i dobrze wyposażona. Śniadania są dodatkowe płatne (my ich nie mieliśmy) więc podczas serwowania raczej nie można korzystać z kuchni. Ale przed 10 gdy wszyscy skończyli bez problemu mogliśmy to zrobić 🙂 miejsce bardzo ładne i z dobrą ceną jak na Islandię. Polecam 🙂

Stayed here on the way back from South Coast. Friendly people, I guess. A little grumpy lol. Nice room, but a little costly for what it is, breakfast was extra too, which was too much. There were waffles but they were floppy. Nice to have a bathroom and horses outside. Nearby restaurants aren’t anything special.
