Mooie locatie met charme, maar binnen kan het beter

We sliepen in een prachtig huisje op een unieke locatie. Van buiten ziet het er echt sprookjesachtig uit – heel charmant. Binnen viel het helaas wat tegen. De inrichting is verouderd, de douche maakt alles nat (inclusief het toilet), en de trap naar boven is zó steil dat het met koffers bijna niet te doen is. Voor wie slecht ter been is, is het echt niet geschikt.

Ook de keuken is wat behelpen en het hele huisje voelt aan de krappe kant. Toch zijn er ook leuke extra’s: een boot met heet water om in te ontspannen, een sauna, een washok, en zelfs een poolvos die rondliep – bijzonder om mee te maken!

Wat we misten was enig contact met de gastheer of gastvrouw. Je voelt je wat aan je lot overgelaten, en dat is jammer. Maar misschien is dat in IJsland wel gebruikelijk.

Al met al: prachtige buitenkant, unieke plek, maar van binnen en qua ontvangst kan het beter. Daarom 4 sterren.

A lovely retreat for rest and relaxation. The cozy cottages may be small, but they comfortably accommodate a family with two children. One of the highlights is a charming boat-shaped hot tub, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. And of course, the true star of the place is a friendly fox who often makes an appearance, adding a magical touch to the experience.

Spent 2 nights here. Great place with great views and a hot tob. Too bad... we had low hanging clouds and it was very misty. Which gave it a surreal feeling. Nice, clean rooms. And a small arctic fox wandering around, almost the local pet here.

Located in the fjord, sea is visible from the houses. Staying here is a must. The rooms are perfect for spending one or more nights under their warm covers. There is a laundry room, a hot tub in a small boat, a sauna and of course showers. One can enjoy the view of the sea and the mountain on the other side while being inside a hot tub with singing birds near the sea.

The house we stayed was equipped with everything, even WiFi. The host was very helpful and flexible and handled our requests perfectly. Good breakfast is also provided upon request. Absolutely recommend this paradise-like cottage.

Great accommodation in a serene location. The cottages had kitchen, decent bathrooms and bedding. The big thing for us was missing soap/ shampoo in the bathroom, we would have expected this. Please carry your own if you come here. Also the bedrooms steps were very steep and narrow. Sort of a bit scary to go up but not a deal breaker given the value.

Outside there was tables where you can grab coffee / dinner viewing the beautiful lake and mountains. Overall amazing value for money, just for the views.

Unacceptable to have a mattress on the floor. You can just feel the floor through the mattress. Besides, you first have to go up the most dangerous ladder/stairs to get to that " fantastic" mattress. Bathroom is too small. Nowhere a shelf to put your towel and other stuff.

The view on a sunny day is beautiful and there is a jacuzzi available to every stayer.

One of the best places we ever stayed. The location is amazing.. Cottages are small but very comfortable. Just sit on your porch and chill. Foxy will entertain you 🤗

Skotta the black lab was the best! She made our stay wonderful and even helped during check out by keeping a watchful eye on our bags

We also enjoyed the boat hot tubs and quaint cottage. This was one of my favorite hotels during my 10 day trip, beautiful views too.

The rooms got very dark, which was useful during the 23 hours of daylight in May.
